Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I have been a hairstylist for over 10 years and opened Halo because I felt there was a need for a salon and spa in Roseville that catered to client’s needs. Halo is a full-service salon with 15 people on staff to make your salon or spa experience relaxing and enjoyable.

What was your vision when you first started your business, and what is it now?

I wanted to create an environment that was warm and inviting to our customers. I wanted to carry the top-of-the-line hair and skin care products for our customers and have the best-of-the-best working at our Salon. Now I believe we have the best crew and I would like to keep it going and maybe one day expand.

What is the best part of doing business in this community?

The best part of doing business in Roseville is that despite the down times, Roseville still finds a way to make sure that they are looking great!

What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?

I started working at a salon in Rocklin when I was 17. I learned from two great hairstylists the tricks of the trade.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

We do local weddings, photo shoots, and events. We also work with a company called Save The Tatas, and every time a customer purchases anything we carry from them, a portion of the proceeds benefits cancer research.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Halo’s team creates both contemporary and timeless looks for the residents of Roseville. They receive monthly in-house training from New York City, and Halo also has Redken-certified stylists.

What is the best thing about being the boss?

I love a challenge, and being the boss always brings me one.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud of being able to stay updated in my industry and love what I do for a living.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My parents are my role models; they always taught me to go after what I want in life.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I like to go hang out with my horses. I seem to forget about what is bothering me when I am with them.

And finally, customer service is…?

The most important thing; without it, our business wouldn’t succeed.
