Francois Lurton
Les Fumées Blanches 2007 Sauvignon Blanc

In the region of Gaillac, southern France, light morning mists can be seen drifting over foothill vineyards that look very much like white smoke. It is this mist that inspires the name Les Fumées Blanches, which translates to “the white smoke.” Jacques Lurton uses modern methods in his production of Les Fumées Blanches 2007 Sauvignon Blanc so perfectly that this wine captures everything one should expect in a good Sauvignon Blanc. Les Fumées Blanches 2007 Sauvignon Blanc has a brilliant pale yellow-green color with hints of lime, citrus, gooseberry and tropical fruits in the scent, which all spill over into the flavor. This white is crisp, fresh and very satisfying. A delightful drinking wine, it pairs well with seafood and chicken dishes and is especially nice with escargot!
