Then & Now

THEN:
Shirley Valentine
This sweet film about a middle-age housewife living a stagnant existence in Liverpool, takes off when she packs her bags for Greece, where, in an attempt to discover herself, finds much more than she bargains for. This tender, Oscar-nominated comedy, strikes a relatable chord.

NOW:
Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day
This charming film, a modern-day homage to the screwball comedies of the 1930s, depicts the relationship of a down-on-her-luck governess and a high-society actress. First-rate performances from Frances McDormand and Amy Adams – a heavenly comedic pairing – make this film pure joy.
