Endless Summer Beach Party

More than 200 attendees enjoyed a tropical-themed celebration in honor of Hands4Hope’s 15th anniversary. The party included live music, dinner, dancing, dessert, refreshments (donated by local wineries and breweries), and auctions. Approximately $189,000 was raised for Hands4Hope’s life-changing programs that build skills and confidence for youth while helping fill unmet community needs.

Red Shoe Crawl

Over 260 participants wore red shoes—in support of Ronald McDonald’s trademark footwear—and explored mapped-out venues on Sutter Street where they received small bites and beverage tastings. With the community’s support, Ronald McDonald House Charities raised over $30,000 to benefit sick kids and their families staying at Sacramento’s Ronald McDonald House.

Point-in-time counts are taken one night a year, like a census, but often these are not accurate. Plus, those without a home are nomadic, moving from county to county. Two things are true, however: The numbers should be seen as “fluid,” as people are transient; and sadly, the numbers are growing.
