You may feel as though you’re stepping into a posh nightclub, but don’t be fooled: the vibe at Junior Restaurant & Lounge is meant to be lively yet laid-back and welcoming, whether you’re on a first date or with your family.
Junior’s vision is to create a fun, exciting escape with good food and friendly staff. Named after the owners’ eldest son Edgar, nicknamed “Junior,” Ed and Marina David have followed their passion for quality cuisine and craft libations to make Junior Restaurant & Lounge a reality. The open floor plan and sizeable outdoor patio provide an ideal setting for both intimate conversations and large gatherings—a hard balance to strike, but one they’ve successfully achieved. With tasty bites, bespoke cocktails, and live music daily, there’s something for everyone.
My wife and I went for brunch with our little one to escape the unbearable summer heat. Amanda, our server, quickly said that recommendations are hard (“Everything on the menu is fantastic!”) but mentioned the wagyu sliders are her daily craving. With that, we started with an order and a Bloody Mary to share. The drink came loaded with blue cheese-stuffed olives and a bacon-wrapped jalapeño and was a perfect way to literally kick off the meal. After one bite of the sliders, we could easily see why they’re Amanda’s favorite…yum!
We then tried the market berries French toast, breakfast sandwich, and seasonal salmon salad. The brioche bun on the sandwich was pillowy soft and tasty, holding the Tabasco and honey aioli, softly scrambled egg, crispy bacon, and sharp cheddar nicely together for an overall impressive sandwich. The seasonal salmon salad—featuring herb-crusted salmon, raspberries, mixed greens and romaine, goat cheese, candied pecans, Fuji apple batons, and refreshing lemon vinaigrette—exceeded our expectations. The French toast—piled high with fresh berries, pistachios, chocolate drizzle, maple syrup, a beautiful dab of whipped cream, and dusting of powdered sugar—was the clear winner though. If you have a sweet tooth, this will not disappoint.
The manager personally came to speak with us, not just about the vision for Junior and the extensive menu, but about family, our community, the need for connection, and Junior’s plans to cultivate all the above in a unique, playful, and casual way while still maintaining an upscale experience from the kitchen, the bar, and the lounge.
Thanks to a comfortable atmosphere, extensive drink offerings (tequila flight, anyone?), and tasty bites—plus live tunes and scenic environs—Junior Restaurant & Lounge is the perfect all-occasion destination.
