The Downtown Sacramento Partnership has announced special holiday hours for the Downtown Sacramento Holiday Ice Rink, the area’s oldest and most beloved outdoor ice rink. Located at the corner of 7th and K Streets, the rink is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through January 3 (except on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed on Christmas Day, and on New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.). As of January 4, normal operating hours will resume and the rink will remain open through January 18, 2016. As an added holiday experience, ice skaters and their families can visit with Santa Claus on Friday, December 18 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Skaters are encouraged to bring a camera and/or smart phone for free photos with Santa (included with paid admission). Situated in the heart of downtown, more than 30,000 skaters are expected to visit the ice rink throughout the season. The ice rink has been a seasonal landmark on the Kay since 1991 and offers a playful escape into an urban winter wonderland for kids and adults alike.
