Placerville Event: Ikebana (Three Classes on Basic Sogetsu Principles)
Saturdays 9am-noon (June 25, July 23, & August 27)
June 25: Floating Arrangements and the use of Glass Containers. Floating Arrangements can be created in a Moribana (low, flat container), or in a clear bowl or other glass vase.
July 23: Morimono Arrangements: Combining plants, vegetables, fruits, leaves and roots along with flowers. Morimono can be displayed on a tray, a base plate, a cloth or even a large leaf.
August 27: No Kenzan Arrangements: Using a Moribana (low, flat container) creating a composition that stands by itself without the use of a Kenzan (pin frog). How to fix the branches is the crucial issue.
Instructor Yasmin is a “Sensei“ (teacher) in the Sogetsu School of Japanese flower arranging. Adults and children 8 and older are welcome, as long as accompanied by a paying adult. Cost: $75/members, $90/non-members. Individual classes $35/members, $40/non-members. A detailed email will be sent once you register online. A detailed email will be sent once you register online.
