Placerville Event: Ikebana 3-Part Workshop

Sundays, March 13, April 10, & May 15th 10am-1pm

There are three foundational styles to be mastered in classical Sogetsu Ikebana, from which all other styles, (with some exceptions) are derived. These three classes are intended to provide the students with a solid basis to create compositions of great beauty, even as beginners. The moto of Sogetsu Ikebana is, “Anytime, Anywhere, by Anyone with any type of material”. These classes can be taken individually, but are intended as a series to provide the fundamental instruction for students interested in developing basic Ikebana skills. By repeating these styles using different materials, we become familiar with the uniqueness of each type of material and the ways in which they are enhanced in displaying the different techniques. Instructor Yasmin is a “Sensei“ (teacher) in the Sogetsu School of Japanese flower arranging. Adults, although children 8 and older are welcome, as long as accompanied by an adult.
