This, the second of Ami Stroud’s fall hikes, will loop from Training Hill to one of the last legs of the Western States Trail. The first mile is almost straight up. At the top you’ll connect with the Pointed Rocks Trail (good views of Lake Folsom and many pointed rocks), then descend on the Western States trail which is a beautiful shady trail with Oaks, Pines, Cedars, and grasses, and two easy creek crossings. Very strenuous 2.5 mile loop. Ami’s inspiration for navigating her life is to navigate a flowing river in her kayak. 14-year-olds+ welcome. Suggested Donation: $5/members, $10/non-members.
