Art can be found in the most unique places. Traveling north on highway 80, in the little town of Newcastle, is a picturesque rustic building that was once a fruit packing shed. Unexpectedly, it is now a unique art venue that features work by a group of very talented artists. The different mediums and styles gathered here make this a very special place with lively artist studios, displays and ongoing art demonstrations.
A selection of seven artists from the Newcastle Packing Shed will be on exhibit at the Gallery at 48 Natoma in Folsom, July 12 to September 5, 2019 with nationally acclaimed pastel painters Jan Miller, Pat Stoddard Aragon, Charlene Schmidt, Gretchen Locke, Paul Harmon, Joyce Williams and Lucinda Johnson. Most of the artists are signature members of the prestigious Pastel Society of the West Coast.
In the adjacent Community Gallery at 48 Natoma, the Annual Student Art Show will display the work from a selection of the Adult Art classes taught at the Art Center at 48 Natoma.
The public is invited to celebrate both exhibits at the free opening reception on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m., with refreshments, wine and live guitar music by Peter Morgan.
