You don’t have to travel to New York or Paris—or even San Francisco—to find spectacular art. The suburbs of Sacramento are home to an array of talented artists who work in every medium, from watercolor and oils to jewelry and photography. Several local arts associations support these artists, not only helping them perfect their crafts but also bringing art experiences to the public. DINNER IN THE ORCHARD

Placer Breast Cancer Foundation hosted their first Dinner in the Orchard, a farm-to-fork fundraiser to raise money to fight cancer. Held outdoors under twinkling lights, the dinner featured food made from ingredients sourced from the extended community, as well as a silent auction.

BET ON ROTARY

Folsom Lake Rotary and Historic Folsom Rotary hosted their annual evening of gambling to raise funds to support local community projects like Folsom’s Hope, Hearts 4 Heroes, Powerhouse Ministries’ Senior Gift Bag program, and more. Attendees also enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and raffle prizes.

GARDENS OF THE HILLS TOUR

The Assistance League of the Sierra Foothills once again hosted their Gardens of the Hills Tour where nearly 600 attendees were able to tour local private gardens as well as the Sherwood Demonstration Garden in Placerville. Money was raised for various programs benefiting local children in need, elementary and high school students, youth athletes, and seniors.

CHIPPING AWAY AT CHILDHOOD CANCER

Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance celebrated its 25th annual Chipping Away at Childhood Cancer golf tournament in Auburn. Proceeds support the nonprofit’s mission of providing emotional, educational, and financial support to children with cancer and their families. Over 140 golfers, 50 community partners, and 30 volunteers joined efforts in the fight against childhood cancer.

THE BASH 2022

The Bash was an all-inclusive night of food, beverages, music, dancing, and more put on by the Roseville Area Chamber and Ignite Young Professionals. This year’s event was the first to be held on the new Roseville Pedestrian Bridge between Royer Park and Vernon Street.
