We are pleased to honor Dr. Daniel Monahan on his upcoming retirement. With over 30 years in medicine, Dr. Monahan transformed a successful general surgical career into a prestigious solo vein practice. The Monahan Vein Clinic has served the community for 25 years, treating patients from the greater Sacramento area to as far as Los Angeles, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, and beyond. A recognized expert in superficial venous disease, Dr. Monahan’s groundbreaking work, leadership roles in organizations like the American Venous Forum and American Vascular and Lymphatic Society, and his commitment to advancing the field have made a lasting impact.

His commitment to his practice is not only reflected in how he has cared for the community but also in his intent on ensuring its future longevity. He will pass the legacy of the clinic onto his successor Dr. Wynter Phoenix. Dr. Monahan has “hand picked” Dr. Phoenix to take over the vein practice. They have similar backgrounds in General Surgery with Dr Phoenix being an active and practicing Board Certified General Surgeon. Dr. Phoenix shares the same passion to care for patients in the venous- lymphatic world as Dr. Monahan did. He is poised to continue the pleasant atmosphere the community has come to know and love, as well as maintain its center of excellence. Although the name of the practice will change, its location and staff shall remain as well as its continued commitment to provide quality care and even plan to expand services.

Known for building strong relationships, Dr. Monahan’s patients and staff celebrate his compassionate care and personal touch. Dr. Monahan’s career has been marked by significant achievements and a profound impact on his community.
