Dr. Christopher Kurnik joined Marshall's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practice in the fall of 2023. His interests lie in surgical pathology including shoulder instability, shoulder arthroplasty, knee cartilage restoration, knee ligament instability and arthroscopy of the knee and hip.

"When I find the most satisfaction in my work is when I see a patient who has an injury, and who is devastated, and I can get them back to the point that they're doing what they want to do again, and that their injury doesn't define them."

Dr. Kurnik is passionate about getting patients back to the hobbies and work they love. An avid outdoorsman, for him those hobbies include skiing, mountain biking, upland and archery hunting, trail running and fly fishing.

"Marshall is one of the few hospitals in this area that has a connection to the outdoors. I care a lot about the community. I care a lot about where I live and where I work, and being somewhere that has that connection fills my cup."

Dr. Kurnik is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and attended University of Nevada, Reno's School of Medicine before completing his orthopedic residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
