Legends of Wine. The 39 Steps. This fast-paced comedy, performed by Imagination Theater at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, is set in 1935 London and features a small cast playing all the roles, sometimes at the same time. El Dorado Hills Brewfest. Enjoy unlimited tastings from over 25 regional breweries (plus a sprinkling of cideries and wineries), food, and live music at Village Green Park from 3-7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce and their various community programs. eldoradohillsbrewfest.org

Jay Leno. Folsom Lake College is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a sip-and-stroll (food and wine stations) event inside the Harris Center lobby from 5:30-7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., acclaimed late-night TV show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s author, and philanthropist Jay Leno takes the stage. harriscenter.net/jay-leno

Auburn Cruise Nite. “Cruise” through Downtown Auburn (between Elm Avenue and High Street) with your friends and family while perusing over 300 classic cars (1972 or older), listening to live music, and enjoying food from local vendors. Admission is free. auburncruisenight.org

Seussical the Musical. This fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza brings colorful Dr. Seuss characters—including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, and a little boy with a big imagination, Jojo—to life as they transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus and into the invisible world of the Whos. Ain’t Necessarily Dead Fest. Celebrate the music of Grateful Dead from noon-10 p.m. at Auburn’s Regional Park. Automotive Excellence Annual Car Show. Head to Automotive Excellence in Placerville to explore both custom and classic cars from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Food, vendors, music, a cake walk, and raffle prizes are also available. Colfax Railroad Days. Patriot Day. Head to Rocklin’s Johnson-Springview Park from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to say “thank you” to first responders, military, police, and fire districts. Michael Feinstein: Because of You. Award-winning and Grammy-nominated recording artist Michael Feinstein entertains and educates audiences alongside the Carnegie Hall Ensemble at this performance that pays tribute to American Songbook master Tony Bennett. Sips & Suds. From 5-9 p.m., wander Gold Hill Gardens—a 38-acres estate in Newcastle—while enjoying tastings from Placer Wine & Trail breweries and wineries, perusing goods from local vendors, and listening to live music. Folsom Community Service Day. Folsom’s largest day of volunteerism mobilizes hundreds of residents of all ages to complete projects throughout the region, including ones at schools, parks, nature preserves, trails, the Folsom Public Library, the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, and local service organizations. folsomcommunityservice.org

Together Again: Karla Bonoff & JD Souther. Hot Pink Fun Run: Bubbles & Brews. This annual race benefiting the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation includes a post-race mimosa or beer (plus pancakes and bacon!).
