What’s Up In August 2024: Notable Happenings in our Local Communities.

Rocklin’s “toy row,” which houses luxury dealerships like Tesla, Land Rover, Audi, Porsche, Harley-Davidson, and Mercedes-Benz, will soon be welcoming Envision Genesis to a 4.7-acre site and 29,380-square-foot building at 4435 Granite Drive.
The El Dorado Hills Town Center is adding two new health and wellness tenants this fall: IV Lounge (ivlounge-edh.com) and Livity Treatment Center (livitytreatmentcenter.com). IV Lounge, which currently operates a location in Cameron Park, offers IV therapy, vitamin injections, red light therapy, and halotherapy; the relocation will allow the business to add services such as ionic foot baths and vibration plates. Livity, a mental health clinic, specializes in treating eating disorders and provides services like dialectical behavior therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and couples therapy.

Quick-service Mexican restaurant Taco Exxpress (tacoexxpress.com) opened at 706 East Bidwell Street in Folsom. The eatery, which has a second location in Folsom and another in Rocklin, offers daily specials and serves items like enchiladas, nachos, carne asada fries, tacos, and all-day breakfast burritos.

Indulge in sandwiches and sliders made with fluffy scrambled eggs and toppings (cheddar cheese, bacon, ham, and spam) on thick-cut milk bread at Momo Egg Drop (momoeggdrop.com). Located inside Bober Tea & Coffee in Roseville (1164 Galleria Boulevard, Suite 110), the Filipino-based franchise prides themselves on using fresh ingredients and believes “good food nurtures good people.”

San Francisco-based lifestyle brand Marine Layer (marinelayer.com)—known for their soft and sustainable fabrics, with items ranging from button-down shirts, graphic tees, and sweaters to swimwear, dresses, and jumpsuits—is opening the region’s first location at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville.

Folsom’s Palladio is welcoming an all-you-can-eat tabletop Korean BBQ restaurant to its list of tenants at 380 Palladio Parkway, Suite 305. Family-owned and operated Oz Korean BBQ (ozkoreanbbq.com), which currently has two restaurants in the region, is expected to open this fall.

Ben’s Barketplace (bensbarketplace.com) "the healthiest pet food store on the planet," is opening their ninth brick and mortar this fall at 2326 Grass Valley Highway in Auburn. Known for being the largest retailer of raw dog and cat food in Northern California, the Auburn locale will also offer laser-focused nutritional consultations for pet owners, a state-of-the-art CyberWash 3000 from the Netherlands (self-service pet wash station), online ordering, and free delivery within a five-mile radius.

Head to Rancho Cordova’s newly opened Galbizip Korean BBQ (galbizip.com) at 2839 Zinfandel Drive for an all-you-can-eat, conveyor belt experience featuring premium, grill-it-yourself meats (rib eye, pork belly, wagyu, bulgogi, etc.), plus potstickers, kimchi stew, tempura, sushi, and dessert.

Bring your kiddos to Mimi’s Playroom (@mimis_playroom), located at 4140 Mother Lode Drive, Suite 106, in Shingle Springs, and watch their imagination come to life. The space includes toys suitable for various ages and interests, along with a café and private room for parties.

Dave’s Hot Chicken (daveshotchicken.com), whose menu includes chicken tenders and chicken sliders, as well as sides like cheese fries, mac & cheese, and kale slaw, is opening at 10325 Fairway Drive, Suite 150, in Roseville. The chain, which started as a pop-up in East Hollywood in 2017, has since expanded internationally; locally, they have sites in Fair Oaks, Folsom, and Arden-Arcade.
