Rustic Mule (rusticmule.com), which offers grazing tables, charcuterie, and cheese boards for special occasions (weddings, baby and bridal showers, birthdays, fundraisers, corporate events, etc.), is opening a storefront this summer at 741 Sterling Parkway, Suite 100, in Lincoln. Originally a successful mobile beverage business, the expansion will provide grab-and-go offerings, along with pickup and delivery of custom charcuterie and cheese boards.
Sylvan Learning (sylvanlearning.com), a tutoring center focused on getting results and setting children up for long-term success by building academic confidence, igniting intellectual curiosity, and inspiring a love of education, is opening a location at 8659 Auburn Folsom Road in Granite Bay. The new center, scheduled to open this month, will provide support for students in grades K-12.
Expect Texas-inspired barbecue and authentic Southern soul food at Belly Barbecue (bellybarbecue.com). The restaurant—opening at 1760 Prairie City Road, Suite 120, in Folsom—will offer a menu with slow-cooked meats (beef short ribs, brisket, sausage, turkey wings, pork ribs, and pulled pork) and sides (collard greens, Southern-fried cream corn, cornbread muffins, and slaw), plus vegetarian options like pulled mushrooms and smoked butternut squash.
Altitude Trampoline Park (altitudetrampolinepark.com), a family-friendly entertainment destination with cutting-edge attractions (trampolines, playgrounds, foam pits, obstacle courses, arcades, basketball, dodgeball, etc.) and party packages geared to kids ages 3-12, is opening this summer at 1100 Riley Street in Folsom.
A women's specialty boutique offering a unique, curated collection of designer clothing—from day wear and work wear to evening wear—is hosting its grand opening on May 11 at 5550 Douglas Boulevard, Suite 160, in Granite Bay. The owner of J. Nash (@jnashboutique), Jackie Goodwin, has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and looks forward to building client relationships and serving the community.
Japanese restaurant Tokyo Express (tokyoexpress.menu11.com), which has an existing location in Carmichael, is expanding to 5130 Common Drive, Suite 112, in the Rocklin Commons center. The approximately 1,600-square-foot eatery is scheduled to open this summer and will serve high-quality, reasonably priced sushi, ramen, teriyaki plates, tempura, and more.
The El Dorado Hills Town Center is welcoming two new tenants this spring. Alchemy (@alchemy.edh), a retailer selling refinished furniture and home décor, is opening at 4359 Town Center Boulevard, Suite 114. El Dorado Hills Motors (@edhmotors) will be sited at 4364 Town Center Boulevard, Suite 120, and offer used vehicles, consignments (starter vehicles, along with luxury and exotic models), and broker new vehicle purchases.
Japan-based UNIQLO (uniqlo.com), a store specializing in casual apparel and accessories for men, women, and children, is opening an approximately 11,200-square-foot space at 1151 Galleria Boulevard, Suite 109, in Roseville.
Locally owned Active Bodywork (activebodywork.com), with two existing locations in Sacramento, opened a third brick and mortar at 6610 Folsom-Auburn Road, Suite 5, in Folsom. The business is passionate about promoting holistic health and wellness and believes that integrating sports massages into the fitness experience can greatly enhance overall performance and recovery.
Granite Bay’s popular bistro and wine bar House of Oliver (houseofoliver.com) is opening a second, smaller-format location at the Fountains at Roseville (1013 Galleria Boulevard). In addition to beer, wine, and small bites (panini-style sandwiches, charcuterie, etc.), the community can expect live music a few nights a week.
Nevada City’s Inn Town Campground (inntowncampground.com)—a 15-acre, family-friendly campground in downtown Nevada City that offers tent and RV sites, in addition to glamping tents—is in the running, alongside other campgrounds across the country, to be named Best RV Campground by USA Today. Congrats to Cindy Abraham, director of the Gallery at 48 Natoma, on her retirement. Her career with the Folsom Parks & Recreation Department spanned over two decades; through that time, she accomplished many feats, including developing the Gallery at 48 Natoma in 2007—where she’s since pounded over 12,000 nails for close to 200 exhibits featuring approximately 1,500 local artists. Abraham’s unique talents and keen artistic vision will be greatly missed!
Yelp recently named Folsom’s Umami Ramen (umamiramengroup.com) and Roseville’s Fukumi Ramen (fukumirestaurantgroup.com/fukumi-roseville) as two of California’s “Top 100 Ramen Spots.” Umami, known for their shio, miso, and vegetarian ramen, came in at number nine; and Fukumi, known for their kara-miso and midori ramen, ranked 34th.
