Jojo’s Bakery (jojos-bakery.com), which started as a Cottage Food Operation, opened a storefront at 2857 Ray Lawyer Drive in Placerville. Stop by for scratch-made, all-occasion cakes (including ice cream cakes!), cookies, cupcakes, dog treats, and more.

Local dessert chain Creamy’s by Cayla Jordan (creamysbycaylajordan.com), known for their high-quality mini cheesecakes in fun flavors like circus animal and red velvet, is opening a third location at the El Dorado Hills Town Center (edhtowncenter.com). The new shop, sited at 2023 Vine Street, Suite 106, will also sell cotton candy, churros, cakes, cookies, and more, in addition to serving as the businesses’ headquarters.

La Popular (lapopularcdmx.com), an upscale Mexican restaurant with existing locations in Mexico City, is making its stateside debut in Roseville at 234 Gibson Drive. The elevated, energetic destination will feature traditional Mexican dishes using high-quality ingredients, adventurous flavors, and innovative preparations, including house-made tortillas and moles, plus an agave-centric cocktail program with an impressive selection of tequila and mezcal.

The Goddard School (goddardschool.com)—which offers children ages six weeks to six years old a chance to learn, explore, and grow in a safe, nurturing environment—is opening a location in Roseville. Westpark Yoga (westparkyoga.com), a fitness studio focused on mindful movement with classes in varying intensity levels—including slow flow, aerial yoga, tai chi, and power yoga—is opening at 2310 Pleasant Grove Boulevard in Roseville’s Village Westpark (villagewestpark.com).

El Dorado Hills’ Stick House, sited at 2023 Vine Street, is in the process of rebranding to Vacanza Romana. Scheduled to open before the end of the year, expect a family-friendly space with classic Italian staples that celebrate the vibrancy and freshness of seasonal ingredients. Family-owned KK Threading is now open at 657 East Bidwell Street in Folsom. Stop by Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. or Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. to experience the ancient technique of hair removal that uses 100% organic cotton thread.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar (kurasushi.com), an innovative, interactive Japanese restaurant that combines advanced technology, premium ingredients, and affordable prices, is opening a location at 250 Gibson Drive in Roseville. Expect a variety of sushi and specialty rolls (including seasonal offerings), in addition to ramen, noodles, desserts, and more.

Folsom’s Palladio (gopalladio.com) welcomed two locally owned businesses to its center: Anita Rochelle Boutique (anitarochelle.com), which sells local art and playful, designer fashion; and MTT Collective (mttcollective.com), which sells men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel and accessories, handmade jewelry that comes with a lifetime guarantee, and bracelet making classes, private parties, and community events. Both businesses’ existing boutiques are in Historic Folsom.
