Ask the Experts: When Should My Child Begin Swim Lessons?

Q: When should my child begin swim lessons?
A: Teaching kids to swim should be a top priority for every family, as drowning is the number one cause of accidental death for children ages 1-4. The earlier the better when introducing your child to the water. Getting water on their face and head in the bathtub or shower is a great place to start. With that said, students as young as three months old can take swim lessons (with a parent in the water, too).
