Ask the Experts: What Are Some of the Long-Term Benefits of Getting Regular Massages?

Q: What are some of the long-term benefits of getting regular massages?

A: Relaxation is one of the most loved benefits of massage therapy; long-term, however, your well-being is improved through regular massage by reducing physical and emotional stress. What’s more, it provides relief from depression and anxiety by promoting the release of dopamine and serotonin. Long-term massage therapy also relieves muscle pain; eases joint pain by increasing blood flow to sore and stiff joints; and improves mobility, posture, and your health. Regular massage therapy is beneficial to support a healthy, active lifestyle.

Q: How often should I get family portraits done?

A: I encourage families with children under 10 years old—especially those with babies and toddlers—to book twice a year, so they can reflect upon how much (and how quickly!) their kiddos change over the years. The majority book in late summer or early fall for holiday cards, but I’m able to accommodate whatever works best for each family.
