Claudia Cummings has been a Community and Civic leader in Folsom for several decades.  She and her late husband William have donated large sections of ground for to the city of Folsom including the bike trail on Creekside Drive, The Cummings Family Park and Skate Park and a portion of the land that Mercy Hospital of Folsom rests on today.  Claudia and William also aided in the building of Mercy Hospital of Folsom Emergency Pavilion.

Claudia was asked to sit on the board of the Folsom Economic Development Corporation, “Choose Folsom” and the Folsom Police Foundation.  Her involvement with her partnership “Rancho Murieta Market Plaza” recently opened a Bel Air grocery store along with a bank, Starbucks, Taco Bell and other tenants.  The underutilized shores of Lake Natoma and the American River have caught her attention also.  She is now the chairwoman of the River District Organizing Committee.  Her thoughts are “the Riverfront areas of Folsom are great assets that are not meeting the needs of the residents or visitors of Folsom”.  The mission of her committee is to designate the land area adjacent to the American River and Lake Natoma as a special district and to support enhancement for current and future residents.

Claudia’s philanthropic endeavors include the Folsom Historical Society, The Chan House, The Murer House, The Nevada Art Museum, The SF MOMA, The Crocker Art Gallery, Folsom Lake Symphony and Folsom Lake Civic Ballet.  In her spare time Claudia owns part of CBT Deer Creek Vineyard, a landowner in Metro Air Park, and an active board member of the University Development Fund whose purpose is to land a four year private university to this area.  She is truly a bundle of energy that the Eveready Bunny will never catch.
