In 2013, Kelli opened Leighton Dance Project with a vision to create a collaborative space for dancers of all ages and abilities. Since its humble beginnings, LDP has grown to be a local community leader in the arts, housing over 500 students ranging in ages from 18 months to 18 years old.  Kelli credits LDP’s success to her philosophy of teaching the foundations and commitments of dance to help guide and develop her students as people, not simply dancers.  This approach has helped lead her students to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Kelli’s impact on the local community stretches far beyond LDP.  She has led dance programs at numerous Sacramento studios and founded CORE Contemporary Dance, one of Sacramento's Premier Professional Dance Companies. Ultimately her passion led her back to owning her own studio, teaching young dancers to dream big.

Along with juggling the challenges of being a business owner, Kelli is the proud mom of 4 young children, 2-year-old twins boys, daughter 7, and oldest son 9. Her family first approach is the backbone of her business and guides her even during these challenging times. Kelli is proud to stand alongside so many inspiring women in business.
