Let's Read: Explore Our Libraries

ABOVE: Virtual Storytime with Folsom Public Library

When I was a child, going to the library was a magical journey. My brother and I had permission to pick out whatever childrens’ literary delight we wanted. On top of that, my little mind couldn’t comprehend how it was all absolutely free! To me, it was as good as ice cream (well, almost). That evening, after gathering a stack of reading wonders, my mom would read to us. Our favorites were the whimsical, always-a-hidden-safety-lesson Berenstain Bears. This was always my mom’s ticket into an adventure to keep us entertained, but also ensured we would always associate the library with happy memories of joy.

Our local libraries have always been a valuable resource to our community—now, when we’re practicing social distancing and going to the library in person may not be an option, these community gems have upped their virtual game even more to help keep kids of all ages entertained and engaged...creating new memories of joy.
