Take a Hike: CA State Parks Annual Pass 101

From beaches and oceans to trees and mountains, the California State Parks system boasts gorgeous locales for all adventurers. If you’re a frequent visitor to them, an annual pass may be a good investment. All can be purchased throughout the year and are valid for 12 months from the month purchased.

California Explorer Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass $195
Honored by most parks throughout the state that are operated by California State Parks and charge a vehicle day use fee. 

Golden Poppy Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass $125
Honored by many popular parks, especially those in the redwood region, and most state reservoirs. 

Tahoe Regional Vehicle Day Use $75
Perfect for those who frequent the gem of our state, Lake Tahoe, and includes popular spots including D.L. Bliss State Park, Emerald Bay State Park, and Kings Beach State Recreation Area. 

OHV Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass $50
Valid for passenger vehicles with a capacity of nine persons or less designated as Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) units at all state operated Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) areas where vehicle day use fees are collected. 

Historian Passport Day Use Admission Annual Pass $50
Provides unlimited entry for up to four persons to many State Historic Parks that charge a per-person fee or vehicle day use fee.

Passes can be purchased online at store.parks.ca.gov/park-passes  by calling 866-417-2757, or by visiting the park pass Sales Office located at 1416 9th Street, Room 116, Sacramento.
