Shaken or Stirred: Classic Cocktails

Sure, we love a crafty cocktail but the classics are classic for a reason. Reacquaint yourself with some familiar libations below and you might discover a new favorite.
Dark and Stormy

• 2 oz. Sailor Jerry rum
• Juice of 2 lime wedges
• Cock n Bull ginger beer
• Sprig of smacked mint
In a glass filled with ice, add rum and top with the ginger beer and lime juice. Garnish with mint.
French 75

• 2 oz. Botanist Gin
• 1 oz. Le Grand Courtage Blanc de Blancs Brut
• 1 strawberry
• ¾ oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
• ¼ oz. Tres Agaves Nectar
• 1 strawberry covered in powdered sugar for garnish
In a pint glass, muddle the strawberry. Add all ingredients (except the Courtage Blanc). Pour contents into a shaker filled ¾ with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a powdered sugar covered strawberry.
Moscow Mule

• 1½ oz. J.J. Pfister Potato Vodka
• ½ oz. fresh lime juice
• ¼ oz. simple syrup
• 1 dash Angostura Bitters
• 2 oz. River City Ginger Beer
• Lime wheel garnish
Fill a shaker 3/4 full of ice. Add J.J. Pfister Potato Vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, and bitters. Shake ingredients, double strain into a collins glass over ice, and top off with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel.

• One part gin
• One part Campari liqueur
• One part sweet red vermouth
Stir into glass over ice, garnish with orange peel, and serve.
Gimlet
• One part sweetened lime juice
• Four parts gin
Mix and serve. Garnish with a slice of lime.
Paloma
• Three parts grapefruit soda
• One part tequila
Stir together, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve over ice.
Boulevardier
• 1 part Campari liqueur
• 1 part rye whisky or bourbon
• 1 part sweet red vermouth
Stir with ice, strain, garnish with orange peel or cherry and serve.
White Russian
• 2 parts coffee liqueur
• 5 parts vodka
• 3 parts fresh cream
Pour coffee liqueur and vodka into a glass filled with ice. Float fresh cream on top and stir slowly.
