Take a Hike at Hinkle Creek Loop Trail in Folsom

Located In: Folsom; Search “Hinkle Creek” in Google Maps.

Distance: One-mile loop; minimal elevation gain.

Difficulty Level: Easy.

Know Before You Go: Dog-friendly (must be leashed); parking is free.

Fuel Up: Julian’s Pâtisserie and Café (6610 Folsom-Auburn Road, Suite 7) is nearby and offers homemade pastries, sandwiches, and coffee or stop by Pete’s Restaurant & Brewhouse (6608 Folsom-Auburn Road) which offers an extensive menu and roomy patio.

Why We Love It: Family-friendly; Well maintained; Passes over Hinkle Creek; Picturesque and quiet; Entrance is near the Hinkle Creek Nature Center [pictured left]which provides educational programs.

Trail Notes: Wear shoes with traction, dress in layers, bring extra water and snacks, remember sun protection (hat, sunscreen), and, as always, pack out what you pack in. Remember to keep to the right.
