The Dive Burgers & Brews  //  If you’re searching for the perfect burger joint, I found it. Nestled in a strip mall across the street from Sierra College, you’ll find The Dive Burgers & Brews. Though unassuming on the exterior, it has charming décor (reclaimed wood and galvanized metal), a super friendly staff, and seriously good food. They have an extensive menu, which can pose to be problematic for indecisive palates, so I left my choice up to the helpful lady taking my order. She recommended the Redneck Burger, which features fresh, 100-percent certified Angus beef, chopped bacon, melty cheddar, sautéed mushrooms, fried green beans (which I initially questioned but came to love), redneck slaw, jalapeños, and beast sauce. I loved every messy mouthful of it and found the buttery brioche bun to be the perfect, pillowy soft vessel for all the fresh fixin’s. My mom had the Lamb Burger and said she would definitely order it again; and my husband had the Dive Burger, which came with an over-easy egg and demanded napkins…and a hearty appetite. We shared fried pickles, house fries, and sweet potato fries—all were easily above average—but next time I’m digging into their namesake Dive Fries; they’re covered in nacho cheese sauce, house slaw, redneck sauce, sour cream, and jalapeños, so they’re destined to be delicious. The eatery also serves sandwiches, salads, and craft beer from the region’s best breweries.
