El Dorado Hills Community Services District: Activities Aplenty

World Kindness Day
NOVEMBER 3

In a collaborative effort with the EDH Branch Library and YELL Teen Council, the inaugural World Kindness Day is coming to the CSD Gym. From 3-5:30 p.m., families can learn how to fill their bucket with tips and tricks on showing kindness and respect for others. Admission is $25 for a family of four and $5 for additional family members.

Beavers in Your Backyard
NOVEMBER 7

Learn about the life history, behavior, and ecology of the North American beaver, castor canadensis, from 7-8:30 p.m., as Kate Lundquist and Brock Dolman of the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center’s WATER Institute share their knowledge and experience working with communities to manage beavers in both wildland and urban settings. Learn about what’s going on in El Dorado Hills from Elena DeLacy of the American River Conservancy, who will provide some insight into non-lethal beaver management strategies at work in your neighborhood.

Competitive Robotics Boot Camp with LEGO Mindstorms EV3

NOVEMBER 19-21

This boot camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. introduces various game play challenges—following complex lines, wrestling sumo-bots, and solving mazes, to name a few—and extends the basics using an in-depth exploration of competitive robots.
