Catch All: Passport to Student Wellness

School faculty members know that academic success relies on students' overall wellness, and with kids spending much of their time at school, it's important for educators, administrators, and counselors to be in tune with programs dedicated to improving the prosperity of students and their families. Understanding the importance of this, Placer County Office of Education (PCOE) is holding their annual Passport to Student Wellness on September 13 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at @the Grounds in Roseville where attendees are given a passport that is to be stamped at each table and then entered into a raffle. This free event is open to local school staff members (K-12 educators, school counselors, and administrators) and will feature over 40 local public service organizations displaying their services and resources. "Many students and families are unaware of the resources that are available in our community. Our vision is to connect school staff to community resources so they know where to point their students and families for support—whether they need food, housing, counseling, or substance abuse recovery," explains PCOE Community Affairs Director Kindra Britt. Guest speaker Alicia Rozum, MSW, PPSC, will speak at 9 a.m. about her experiences in education and how local resources have helped the youth she’s worked with. Student wellness is vital and with support from educators and local resources, students and their families can flourish.
