Cameron Park Community Services District: Jump into July

Bring your family and camping gear to the Community Campout at Cameron Park Lake from July 21-22. Attendees can partake in a barbecue dinner (included with fee), swimming, crafts, campfire songs, storytelling, stargazing, sleeping under the stars, and breakfast. Pre-registration is required. 

Don’t miss Trucks and Tunes at Christa McAuliffe Park on July 11 from 5-8:30 p.m., featuring SactoMoFo food trucks, live music, kids’ activities, and vendors. 

Weeklong summer camps for ages 5-12 are available and feature sports, swimming, gymnastics, fun field trips, and more. Every Friday, kids can dress for the weekly theme and win cool prizes. Other youth programs and camps include hula, tumbling and gymnastics, a Kiddie Horse Day Camp (ages 4-6), Equestrian Day Camp (ages 5-17+), Spy Academy (ages 6-12), UK International Soccer Camp, and Sterling “Smooth” Forbes Basketball Camp. Four-week tennis lessons—taught by Andrew Webb and held at Cameron Park Lake—are offered throughout the month for ages 4 and older. 

Grown-ups can get into the action too with a basketball league, Zumba, yoga, tai chi, and water aerobics.

The UCCE Master Gardeners and Master Food Preservers of El Dorado County are joining forces to present a free “All About Berries” class on July 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.  

Seniors are invited to the 50+ Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for pinochle, bingo (July 10 from 1-3 p.m.), bridge, quilting (Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon), lunch (Mondays and Fridays at noon), and an arts and crafts corner (Fridays at 12:45 p.m.). Other classes include “Tai Chi for Better Balance,” Modified Zumba, “Sit and Be Fit,” and chair yoga.  

Swim lessons for all ages, water aerobics, and public and lap swim are also available at the pool, in addition to boat rentals, tennis, pickleball and other activities at Cameron Park Lake.
