Catch All: The Great Banquet
Oct 04, 2017 01:25PM ● By StyleOn October 7, those affected by cognitive and physical disabilities, including families and caregivers, are invited to join nonprofit Joni and Friends at The Great Banquet—a free event featuring live entertainment, raffles, children’s activities and dinner. Joni and Friends Area Director Dan Adragna describes The Great Banquet as a way “…to promote champions in the disability community and offer a forum for them to share their experiences, and to raise awareness and create opportunities for the local community to interact with and serve people with disabilities and special needs.” This year’s keynote speaker, Emily Colson, will share her experiences about raising a special needs son. Donations of wheelchairs, walkers and the like—for refurbishment and distribution to those in need—will also be accepted. Connect with others who may be facing similar challenges in a safe space, or simply attend to show your support. Note: Free, accessible transportation will be offered to those who request it during the registration process.
