Home Design: Local Lookbook

As a member of the design community, I love getting to know other designers and sharing their pieces with clients. It’s a huge bonus when they’re local, as it makes the process even more personal and community driven. Below are a few of my favorite things when it comes to sprucing up a space.

Living in California, I love to entertain outdoors. The Asado Cooker by Coyote Outdoor Living allows you to throw dinner in the smoker, go to work, and come home to an al fresco meal that’s sure to impress! $999, Ferguson Enterprises

First impressions are everything, so your entryway’s mat should be both functional and fun. This darling bike doormat, whose neutral design is sure to turn heads, will bring a warm welcome for years to come. $34, 42nd Street Design

This hand-poured soy bicycle candle burns bright and fresh, especially in the citrus basil scent, and serves as a perfect reminder to hit the trails. $34, 42nd Street Design, 42nd Street Design

Celebrate everything the Golden State has to offer—northern wilderness, southern coastline and a bevy of breweries—with these pint glasses. $12 each, 42nd Street Design, 42nd Street Design

With the amount of time spent recharging at home, it’s definitely worth it to invest in good linens. The Bellino Capri Classic Collection Flat Sheet– featuring 100-percent Egyptian long staple cotton, 250-thread-count percale, and a colored piped edge with one embroidered line—transports you to a dreamy seaside escape with every snooze. $95+

Local artist Kimberly Thompson designs and handcrafts jewelry inspired by her Aunt Doris, hence her shop’s name—Doris Jean Design. The collection features unique elements, responsibly sourced metals and bespoke designs; what’s more, each piece—rings, earrings, pins and bangles (pictured here)—is handmade with a focus on craftsmanship. $48 and $54, Doris Jean Design

We love our state and making statements in our home, and this California pillow is the perfect way to accomplish both! An ideal housewarming gift or #treatyourself purchase, any Californian will appreciate the pop of color and local love. $48,42nd Street Design, 42nd Street Design

Named after the Crosby Street Hotel in NYC, this hourglass light fixture, the Crosby by Zeev Lighting, is reminiscent of classic café lighting and an ode to the mid-century modern era. With an angular diamond silhouette, glass globes, and matte black and aged brass finishes, it gleams and glistens, creating a beautiful, ambient effect. $3,924, Zeev Lighting
