Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Dimples Pediatric Dental specializes in the dental needs of children. I’m a board-certified pediatric dental specialist, which means I’ve had additional training to better handle specific issues relating to children’s developing dentition and behavior-management techniques. The practice was named after my eldest son (you can see his cute dimples on our website). After working as a pediatric dentist for seven years in the Sacramento area, I felt it was time to take on all aspects of the business and put up my own shingle. This footprint I’ve created has been more fulfilling than I ever could’ve imagined.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

I worked at Baskin Robbins when I was 16—without a driver’s license. I gained independence and a clear sense of responsibility that I feel molded me as a person. Being late was not an excuse, even when my bus didn’t come on time. “Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst” has become my mantra.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

They’re so incredibly patient with the kids and are relatable to them and the parents.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

My kids. My four-year-old and my two-year-old are challenging and always manage to show me it could be tougher—but they’re my proof that it will always be worth it in the end.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Rolling down our driveway in huge moving boxes, biking around the neighborhood all day with a break for lunch, and collecting tadpoles. I loved being outside and carefree!

If you could be in any other profession, what would it be?

An event planner. It would be an adventure every day with different people and different places.

And finally, customer service is…?

Giving back 100 percent of the respect, patience and loyalty that our patients give us.

Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased?
In fact, our Introducing and Eat & Drink section reviews are not paid advertisements. If you’d like your business profiled, please email Megan Wiskus at [email protected]. Once we determine when your business will be featured, we will contact you to schedule a time to come out and take a photograph. Thank you!
