Summer is the perfect time to dine al fresco. Eat and drink beneath the warmth of the sun, the shade of trees, or the glow of stars at any of these local restaurant patios.

La Provence Restaurant and Terrace is a favorite outdoor dining spot for locals. Beautiful and relaxing, it’s the perfect place to try their salmon benedict for brunch or spend a romantic evening sharing a pot of spicy spinach and artichoke fondue.

Sienna Restaurant has an inviting patio area with lounge chairs and a fire pit. Sip on a Siennatini (orange vodka, lime, pomegranate juice and orange liqueur) or get lost in the Bistro Steak Salad.

3 Visit Yard House for the 100-plus beers on tap and their covered, modern patio that gives off an energetic vibe. While there, try the Gardein Vegan Burger with red quinoa, kale, shiitake mushrooms and Daiya vegan mozzarella; trust me, you won’t regret it.

The Monk’s Cellar in the heart of Roseville is a laid-back brewery and public house that’s roomy and has a pet-friendly patio. Everyone raves about their duck fat fries, so you should probably see what the fuss is all about.

House of Oliver has a large patio with umbrellas, string lights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Their nut-crusted baked brie drizzled with spicy marmalade is ideal for long summer nights, alongside a chilled glass of Chardonnay.

Farmhaus has generous patio seating with a water feature and string lights—making it a charming setting for a tête-à-tête or two. The sizzling prawns with fresno chile, garlic, cilantro, lemon and toasted baguette is a good place to start.

Black Vinyl Ale Project serves an eclectic selection of house-crafted beers and their patio is pet-friendly with plenty of shade and games. Chow down on their beer-brined chicken wings while you watch a local band perform.

Bar 101 Eats and Drinks has a cozy patio by Downtown Roseville’s Main Street that’s perfect for people watching. While you’re at it, dig into some carnitas fries and savor the perfectly marinated meat, melty cheese, guac, pico de gallo, sour cream and jalapeños.

Paul Martin’s American Grill has a large patio and cocktail lounge that seats up to 80 guests and is the ideal place to gather for a good time. Their Town Dock Calamari with chili aioli and house cocktail sauce is sure to kick things off.

10 GB Alehouse boasts a patio with gorgeous views and plenty of flora and fauna, where you can enjoy a picturesque sunset while listening to live music. Try any of their exquisite pizzas (the Alehouse Garlic Chicken is a personal favorite).
