Catch All: Peach Festival

Jun 27, 2017 04:42PM ● By Emily Peter

Did you know that California is the number one producer and grower of peaches in the U.S.? If you’ve been craving this popular summer fruit, head to Sutter Street on July 15 for the third annual Peach Festival. This family-friendly, free event aims to connect the community to local farmers—all while attendees enjoy music, games and food. The festival’s beneficiary is Living Smart Foundation, a local nonprofit that teaches life skills to local youth through business, finance and on-the-job training. “Every year, we add more activities and more vendors, and this year is no exception. It includes live musical entertainment, games (with a chance to win prizes), tons of peach-inspired foods, a silent auction, peach dessert contest and much more!” says Living Smart Foundation Co-Founder/CEO Marie Hall. Additionally, local chefs will present live cooking and canning demos, and there will be a peach-eating contest, which is a favorite activity among participants and onlookers. Hall explains that the Peach Festival is a “free, fun, delicious and great way to spend time with your family while supporting the community.”!
