Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

The opportunity to go off on my own arose around my 39th birthday, and I surprised myself by not just letting it come in, but enthusiastically welcoming it!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I volunteer with Blue Star Moms at the VFW Hall as a breakfast cook and care package packer and with the Folsom Library as one of its commissioners. Previously, I was a classroom aide at my daughter’s school, where I also ran the spelling bee contest. I find that community involvement and customer engagement go together.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Having a successful career and a beautiful family, but perhaps more importantly, being cognizant of how lucky I am—way too often we forget about that.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I lose myself in a book; perspective always comes out.

What’s your biggest job perk?

The ability to research topics and go in different directions to meet market trends.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

La Rosa Blanca and Back Bistro.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

A River Cats game.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Sutter Street Theatre—great plays!

And finally, customer service is…?

Not hesitating to do the right thing for a customer.

Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased?
In fact, our Introducing and Eat & Drink section reviews are not paid advertisements. If you’d like your business profiled, please email Megan Wiskus at [email protected]. Once we determine when your business will be featured, we will contact you to schedule a time to come out and take a photograph. Thank you!
