Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
It found me. I love shopping, especially bargain shopping, and after working as a legal secretary for 15-plus years I needed to “reinvent” myself. What better way to do so than opening a consignment shop with great items at affordable prices?
What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?
A waitress. I learned the importance of customer service and how to work with the public.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
We donate to good causes such as the SPCA and Discovery Shop and are connected to our customers via Facebook.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
My husband, my dogs and the gym.
Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?
Hiking trails, the movies and the dog park (it’s like Disneyland for dogs).
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Jesus, because he was a peaceful and loving person; also Elvis—I had a big crush on him.
What’s your favorite local event that you go to?
Woofstock. I love watching all of the dogs, and my dogs have so much fun.
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
Trader Joe’s—they have a great thing going!
If you could be in any other profession, what would it be?
An interior designer.
What is your opinion of Style Magazine?
It’s such a great magazine filled with information and is free of charge…I love it!
And finally, customer service is…?
Very important.
