Q: I’ve always prepared my food using store-bought vegetable oil and would like to find a healthier alternative. What’s the best option?

A: Olive oil is a great choice, as it provides both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. You will want to purchase from a reputable supplier, however, in order to ensure it’s a high polyphenol oil. There are two reasons for this; polyphenols are responsible for sacrificing themselves and protect the oil from breaking down. The polyphenols are also responsible for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant health benefits.
