Presented by the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce, this annual South Placer premier business and economic event brought together nearly 700 local and regional business leaders, elected officials and community influencers. The day’s festivities included a networking breakfast, sponsor booths and exhibits, breakout sessions, lunch by Randy Peters Catering, a keynote speech, and an afternoon “sips and sweets” reception by Westfield Galleria.

Open House at Ride to Walk
May 5 / 1630 Highway 193, Lincoln 


Ride to Walk, a nonprofit that strives to provide a positive support system for individuals with disabilities, their parents/caregivers and the community, celebrated Cinco de Mayo with an Open House, which included rider demonstrations and the naming of their new miniature horse “Coco.”

Lincoln Theater Company Fashion Show
May 14 / Lincoln Civic Auditorium 


This sunrise/sunset themed benefit for the Lincoln Theatre Company involved afternoon tea—where guests were invited to bring their favorite teacups—and a wearable arts fashion show by local artisans.

Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch 
May 8 / Sun City, Roseville 


This Mother’s Day brunch, hosted by Sun City, featured delectable food and entertainment by harpist Peggy Brown.

Celebrity Waiter Luncheon
May 20 / Orchard Creek Lodge, Lincoln 


Elected officials, community leaders and local area celebrities—including Beth Gaines, Carol Garcia, Greg Janda, Daniel Hahn and Ron Lawrence—volunteered their time and talents by serving as celebrity waiters while engaging in friendly competition at this annual fund-raiser for Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center, which offers tools that enable families and individuals in Placer County to get back on their feet. The day’s activities included lunch, an entertaining scavenger hunt and raffle giveaways.

Keaton Raphael Memorial (KRM) “Chipping Away at Childhood Cancer” Golf Tournament
May 20 / Morgan Creek Golf Club, Roseville


This 19th annual tournament—which included eats and drinks along the course, hole contests, a raffle, awards ceremony and catered post-golf party—raised $56,000 for KRM’s Family Navigator program. The nonprofit’s John McLean Hero Scholarship Awards—given to qualified students who are cancer survivors and siblings of cancer survivors, in celebration of John McLean, who lost his battle with cancer in 2012—were also awarded.
