El Dorado County Redesigns Its Website to Provide a Better Experience to the Public

El Dorado County will be providing a better experience to the public with its new website that will debut at approximately 5:30 pm on March 11, 2016. The new website design has been created to make information more readily available and improve navigation while allowing functionality with modern technology. The County encourages the public to visit the site and make comments about it at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/edcwebsite

It has been 10 years since El Dorado County has changed its website. During that time, technology and the public’s daily interaction with county government on the web has changed. These changes include the use of social media and citizens accessing the County’s webpage through mobile technology. All users will see improvements in these areas along with many other enhancements.

In addition, the County made it easier for users to access popular functions on the website like the email subscription service. The email subscription service allows for the public to receive automatic email notifications on a variety of different County topics that the user selects. For example, a user can receive email updates on subjects ranging from land use to public notices on roads to information from the Sheriff’s Office. Currently, the County has approximately 11,000 different email subscribers to the service.

The new website will work with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer version 9 or higher.
