Sacramento Interior Designer Suggest Five Gifts for the Interior Decorator

Nov 25, 2015 12:16PM ● By Kerrie Kelly

While we’ve seen gift guides for the tech guy, the glam girl, the expectant parent and even the household pup, seldom do we see guides devoted to the interior decorator. Worry no more: We’ve come up with a few simple and thoughtful ideas to present to the designer in your life.

1 / Table Linens

A tried and true favorite, table linens are lovely to give and receive because they’re light, easy to wrap and even easier to store. Take a peek inside your interior decorator’s space to see the types of colors and textures they like and choose something similar. If you’re unsure about their taste, opt for a classic set of wooden or cork chargers, or seasonal linens that don’t require a full year’s commitment.

2 / Wine Accessories

If your home design fanatic appreciates a good bottle of wine, consider looking around for a rack, corks or an artful display for their collection. Some of our favorite gifts are homemade, and with the popularity of Pinterest, it’s easier than ever to personalize your present (think candles or glasses made from used bottles of their favorite wine). If you aren’t a DIY-expert, there are plenty of gifting options they can use to decorate their space, like a crafty wine crate, themed décor, or a set of unique glasses.

3 / Frames

Gallery walls are all the rage, but so are unique picture frames, art frames and mirror frames. If your home decorator has a thing for fun framing, take a look at your local art store or art gallery for creative ideas. Our favorite go-to gift is a compilation of different sized frames for a complete gallery wall. Bonus points if you put pictures in them!

 4 / Pillows and Throws

Is there anything better than receiving a cozy throw blanket during the winter season? For a truly memorable gift, personalize a pillow with your designer’s monogrammed initials, favorite colors or a customized design. If you’d prefer giving a throw, look for a blanket that reflects their decorating personality so they can use it year-round.

5 / Book Ends

Books are a perfect holiday present—they’re charming, inexpensive and personal. Gift your decorator a pair of book ends as an artful way to display their newly gifted reads. Our favorite ones add a touch of creativity to the space. For a classic look, opt for a set of globes, trophies or heavy stone formations. If your gift recipient’s style is light and bright, consider a duo of colorful vases or an agate slice to add sophistication to any room.

If you’re on the hunt for your home decorator, we suggest going to local boutiques, thrift stores or online. In the end, any type of personal gift is one that is appreciated.
