El Dorado Arts Council’s Supporting Veteran's Voices

Placerville, CA – El Dorado Arts Council (EDAC) is proud to announce the launch of Veterans Road—a triannual literary reading series by writers who are military veterans. Created as a fundraiser and companion program to the EDAC’s Veterans’ Voices—a FREE six-week writing workshop series offered to all veterans.
 
The featured writer will be Iraq War veteran Sean Davis, reading from his memoir The Wax Bullet War: Chronicles of a Soldier & Artist.  Introducing Davis and reading from his own memoir will be El Dorado Hills Vietnam veteran and writer Bill Blaylock, author of Invisible: PTSD’s Stealth Attack on a Vietnam Veteran. Retired US Air Force Major General James Hopp will emcee the event.
 
The first Veterans Road Reading Series event will be held on Friday, November 13 from 7:00 to 9:00 at Holy Trinity Parish, 3111 Tierra de Dios Drive, El Dorado Hills. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $10.00 to the general public, $5.00 for students. Veterans admitted free of charge. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door on the night of the event.
