Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

My business and health practice stems from my own healing journey when I was recovering from the stressful effects of a major injury that occurred during my adolescence. I found natural health treatments that have enabled me to heal as well as help others with my own experience and knowledge. My mom is also an acupuncturist, so I grew up learning acupuncture, herbs, nutrition and qigong.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I currently teach a qigong and meditation class at the Cozmic Café every Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m. The class focuses on building lower body strength, deep breathing, and energy cultivation techniques that are based on ancient Chinese longevity practices.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Finishing a four-year master’s degree program, developing my healing abilities to help other people, and helping my wife to create two adorable boys.

What’s your biggest job perk?

I get to connect with my clients on a much deeper level than regular interactions and that is very rewarding to me. Sometimes when I’m in a session, I can really feel with empathy what their body is trying to communicate, and I can help to balance and nourish those needs by working on the acupuncture meridians or abdominal trigger points. Deeper emotions, hidden feelings and even memories get stored in the body, and I can help to reconnect with that stored energy to allow it to circulate and connect back to the whole person.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

I really enjoy The Farm Table and their use of both locally produced and sourced ingredients.

If you could be in any other profession, what would it be?

I love music, and I would love to produce more music and art as a way of life. Being a food critic sounds good, too!

And finally, customer service is…?

Providing my clients with more than they expect when they first walk through the door. I really like to help people transform their health and lives for the better.
