The Mommy Market (and Daddy Too!) takes place November 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cameron Park Community Center. Shop for new and gently used children’s clothes, toys and furniture; kids’ activities are available while you shop, and admission is free.

Looking for something special for that hard-to-shop-for person on your holiday list? Come to the annual Christmas Craft Faire on November 21 at the Community Center (2502 Country Club Drive) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and peruse (or purchase) a large selection of handmade gift ideas from over 60 vendors. Admission is free.

Youth Basketball sign-ups are currently taking place—don’t miss out on this year’s season! There’s also a need for volunteer coaches. Mini-Hawks Multi-Sport Camp (ages 4-7) takes place November 23-25. Let your child experience baseball, basketball and soccer in an environment that’s filled with encouragement and fun.

Several classes are available for youth, teens and adults this month including gymnastics, classical guitar, tai chi, Zumba, yoga, Jazzercise, ballroom dance and knitting. The one-day “Bird Watching as a Hobby” class on November 7 from 8-11 a.m. will teach you how to identify birds by listening, watching and observing the colors of many species; while the “Bird Identification” class on November 14 from 8-11 a.m. coincides with the end of the fall migration.

Events for mature adults this month include a speaker series on November 18 at 10 a.m. featuring author Roberta Kludt Long asking: “What makes Folsom the city that it is today?” The 50+ Room is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features various activities, games, seminars and more.

Come learn new culinary skills and have fun doing it at the “Ultimate Truffle Making” class on November 7 and monthly “Cooking with Kids” class taught by Susan Kakavas.

Save the date for the Holiday Kickoff event on December 5, which features a 5K Fun Run/Walk that begins and ends at the Cameron Park Community Center and concludes with the Cameron Park Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast, which runs until noon. As well, Sierra Symphony performs on December 6; doors open at 3 p.m. and the music begins at 4 p.m.
