Placerville Recreation and Parks: Halloween Spooktacular

Oct 02, 2015 09:50AM ● By David Norby

Grab your costume—whether sweet, scary, witch or fairy—and strut your style, ’cause it’s ghoul’s night out at the annual Downtown Placerville Spooktacular on Saturday, October 31. When the clock strikes 4 p.m., Main Street transforms into an enchanted place of costumes and candy, thanks to the Placerville Downtown Association, the City of Placerville, the Placerville Active 20/30 Club, and the Placerville Lions Club.

Start the evening trick-or-treating at stores along Main Street from 4-6 p.m.; after, enjoy a DJ broadcasting family-friendly beats from the Bell Tower; families with children ages 10 and under are invited to the carnival at Town Hall from 4-6 p.m., featuring free games, prizes and treats provided by the Placerville Lions Club. At 6  p.m., gather around the Bell Tower for the costume contest. Creativity counts! The Placerville Active 20/30 Club awards prizes for the best costumes in all age groups: 3 and under, 4-6, 7-9, 10-13, 14-17 and adults. A grand prize is awarded for “Best Overall Costume.”

Portions of Main Street will be closed from 3-8 p.m., and parking is available at the downtown parking garage and various City lots. Bring your friends and family for a fab-boo-lous evening of fun and whimsy!
