When thinking of their local bagel shop, many imagine a crisp, toasted bagel smothered in cream cheese—resulting in a delicious yet eloquent mix of crunch and “yum.” I am one of those people. Little did I know the many more gourmet possibilities until I entered The Posh Bagel. Overwhelmed by the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked goods and a menu set to please the local bagel connoisseur, I came to my California senses and ordered the hot Turkey Avocado Melt. Greeted with an epicurean masterpiece, I was hesitant to touch the work of art yet anxious to consume the warm bagel stuffed with farmers’ market-like fresh tomatoes, onions and sprouts and layered with ripe avocado, classic turkey and melted jack cheese, which provided a creamy texture and additional mouthwatering flavor. I sunk my teeth into the warm sensation of the sandwich in the café-like setting and washed it down with Posh’s very own Bubble Tea, a delightful cold drink with signature boba tapioca pearls mixed right in. Posh Bagel is located conveniently on the corner of East Bidwell and Blue Ravine in Folsom, accessible from the Parkway Trails midway through your morning or afternoon stroll.
