Rancho Cordova

Naguib Abduila is a rock star student with As in all his classes. He also enjoys playing baseball, basketball, volleyball and soccer (his soccer team, Sac United, recently won the State Cup in their U13 division).

His favorite part about playing sports is “[getting to know] new people” and developing teamwork. His soccer game is so advanced that he plays in the U13 division when most kids his age are playing in the U12 division.

Achieving a perfect GPA is a difficult feat for most students, and when asked where his favorite place to study is, Abduila says, “My room—I like to listen to music.” Not only is this 11-year-old skilled in the classroom and on the soccer field, but he spends quite a bit of time doing volunteer work and particularly enjoys helping at hospitals.

It’s no surprise that his advice to the under-20 community is to “never give up on your dreams, do well in education and play sports,” considering the words of wisdom he lives by are “study and stay focused on education.” —Rachel Meeker
