A man wanted on a felony warrant led El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies on a chase through Camino and Placerville Sunday.

A patrol deputy spotted Abram Sassenberg driving in Pollock Pines, and attempted to pull him over to place him back into custody. Sassenberg refused to pull over, and led police on a chase that ended when police successfully deployed spike strips in Placerville.

After he was stopped, Sassenberg also was found to be possession of ammunition, methamphetamine and a methamphetamine smoking pipe.

Sassenberg was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on the following charges: felony evading of a peace officer with a disregard for safety of persons/property, felon in possession of ammunition and Post Release Community Supervision revocation.

Sassenberg was also booked on the following misdemeanor charges: 11377(a) possession of methamphetamine and 11364(a) possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

"Sheriff John D’Agostini’s Patrol Deputies continue to practice “total enforcement on crime and criminals” as they proactively look for wanted criminals and those violating the terms of Post Release Community Supervision in El Dorado County," said a news release from the sheriff's office.
