Report: Folsom Lake Level Up Over Last Year's Peak

Mar 11, 2015 09:24AM ● By Steven Jack

There’s good news for Sacramento area boaters preparing for this year’s season on Folsom Lake.

Mark Finan, meterologist with KCRA, reports that the level of the lake is up slightly over last year, and it will continue to rise by its peak in May.

Finan said the lake's surface elevation level on Tuesday, March 10 sat at 425.20 feet. That’s slightly above May 2014’s high of 425.17 feet.

“The lake will continue to rise at a slow clip until the area receives any significant rain. A good rain might raise the lake 5 to 10 feet in just a few days,” Finan said.

Despite the continued drought in Northern California, Finan reports this year’s boating season should be “better” and “longer.”
