3Strands Global, an organization dedicated to raising funds, building awareness and providing jobs and education to fight human trafficking, recently merged with El Dorado Hills-based nonprofit Break Free Inc. Through March 12, enjoy the latest exhibit at the Gallery at 48 Natoma—ARTful Women: Six Voices in Cloth, which features the contemporary fiber artwork of Pam Berry, Joan Dyer, Ann Sanderson, Lin Schiffner, Gail Sims and Sandra Poteet. In the adjacent Community Gallery at 48 Natoma, a creative display of children’s art from Brighton Private Elementary School features interpretations of various cloth and appliqué motifs done as works on paper from students in grades 2-5. The gallery is free and open to the public, and art is available for purchase. Employees at Folsom State Prison and California State Prison, Sacramento raised $4,000 for the families of Sacramento County Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Deputy Michael Davis—the two officers who were fatally shot in the line of duty last fall.
SAFE Credit Union has moved its headquarters from North Highlands to 2295 Iron Point Road in Folsom. SAFE stays active in the community by supporting a variety of charities and programs, including the Sacramento County Office of Education, KVIE Public Television and the Salvation Army.
