The new Winter/Spring Activity Guide is loaded with a wide variety of dance, exercise and sports programs for all, from preschoolers to seniors.

Preschool Fitness: Ages 3-6

Classes for this age group focus on having fun while kids learn basic skills. Selections include swim lessons, Itty Bitty sports and dance, taekwondo, soccer, creative movement, and a new “boyz boogie” class.

Youth and Teen Fitness: Ages 5-18

Classes introduce children to fundamental skills and teach the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship. They’re also a great way for kids to have fun while they engage in physical exercise. Selections include taekwondo, dance, league soccer, tennis, football, wrestling, archery, basketball, fencing, baseball, volleyball and swimming.

Adult Fitness: Ages 18+

These programs are a great way to try out a new activity or build on existing skills, relieve stress and meet new people. Selections include dance, yoga, Pilates, tennis, lap swim, aquacise and various sports leagues. A few of the programs are ongoing due to their popularity, and mature teens may sometimes enroll.

Senior Fitness

Programs for seniors provide a wonderful social outlet and focus on helping participants build and maintain strength, balance and flexibility. Selections include yoga, Pilates, physical fitness, aquacise and the guided “Walk and Talk” program that takes participants on tours of Folsom’s recreational trails. Drop-in pickleball is a new—and very popular—program, and beginner through advanced classes are offered. Seniors may also enroll in adult fitness programs and sports leagues.

Outdoor Workouts

Folsom’s 38-mile network of beautiful paved recreational trails provides convenient access for walking, running or cycling workouts. A map can be downloaded from the city’s website; printed versions are available for $2 at the 48 Natoma Parks and Recreation registration desk.

Family Fitness Events

Participating in an organized fitness event is a great way to set a goal for yourself and celebrate your achievements!  Take part in the new “Love My Mom” 5K Run/Walk on May 9, and join the fun at the 32nd Annual Run with Nature youth run, 5K run/walk and 10K trail run on May 16.
